Aiken Standard: Young has good plan for House

On June 10 we will go to the polls to select a successor for Skipper Perry’s seat in the S.C. House of Representatives.

As an age group peer of Representative Perry, I find it refreshing to have a group of fine young men vying for the seat.

As an Aiken County native and an independent businessman for over 40 years, I feel Tom Young is best qualified to represent us. I am supporting Tom Young for the following reasons. His plan, Palmetto Progress, addresses the issues required to keep Aiken County competitive in today’s world. His platform calls for an educated and skilled workforce which is necessary to create future economic development.

I have spoken to Tom and he understands that quality jobs are the life blood to a community and these jobs can be lost faster than they can be added. He therefore has attraction of quality jobs as a focal point in his plan. A vibrant economy lends itself to a better quality of life for all.

I have known and admired Tom Young’s leadership ability and work ethic since his elementary school days and while he is an educated and skilled lawyer, he is also a small business man. Tom thinks like a business man and acts like a business man. His business acumen will enhance his ability to function well in this new endeavor.

Won’t you join me in helping elect this fine young businessman to the House of Representatives?
